It occurred to me that too many of my friends are relying on selling Scentsy to make money, instead of actually getting out and finding a real job. I would say at least 5-10% of my Facebook friends are doing this. 5-10% may not sound like a lot by putting it that way, but if you think about it, 5-10% of EVERYONE’S friends adds up quickly. Scentsy is something you should sell as a supplement to your full-time job. The same goes for those people who sell ViSalus and Avon and all that similar crap. I can honestly say that the people who I know that sell Scentsy are the same people who mope around the house all day complaining that there’s nothing to do, their husband’s are always working and are never home with them, and they have kids that they can barely take care of because they’re flat broke. Why are they flat broke? Because they won’t (or can’t) hold down a real job at a brick and mortar store.

Another negative trend I see happening is people falling into the trap of earning worthless certificates or degrees that enable you to “work from home,” such as doing medical transcription or similar things. This, to me, is just as bad as selling worthless products from home, like ViSalus, which you will NEVER hear me recommend to anyone even though I have never tried it. We were built to eat real food, not to drink bogus shakes that only temporarily solve your weight problem. But anyway, that’s another story for another time.

I was just looking at my plans for July, and it looks like it’s going to be a busy month. I’d like to go to Daytona on the 7th to catch the NASCAR race, plus I have a few 5Ks to run, and then on the 26th is the Aerosmith concert in Atlanta, and then I’m planning on heading home on leave. I hope everything works out as I want it to…but I guess anything can change between now and then. We shall see.

It just dawned on me that I’m approaching my 700th post! I wonder what it should be about? Hmm, I guess it’s something to think about over the next several days as I continue to inch closer to the big moment!

Things are good for the most part around here though. Sorry for the posting gaps. I’ll try to do better after it’s all over with!

This past weekend I ran my latest 5K. I finished in just over 28 minutes, and that was a good accomplishment for me. I don’t think I’ll be able to do any more until May, and that’s quite a bummer…

My best friend, Jeff, came to visit for a week, and together we caused chaos and commotion throughout most of Florida, haha. We caught the Daytona 500, the Nationwide race, the Gatorade Duels, then hit up Palm Coast, Kissimmee (where my condo is), Orlando, Part of Disney, and everywhere in between! The weather was great except for some showers last Sunday, but otherwise, we had amazing pool weather and sunshine for all of it. I can’t wait to head back down myself for another stay at the condo!

On a similar but side note, I’ve signed up for four upcoming 5K runs around the Southeast! The first one I’ll be training for is right here in Valdosta. It’s the Azalea 5K, and should be a good local event for me to start with in March. After that, I’ll be doing a Twilight 5K on the beach in Jacksonville in April, another one in Tallahassee in May, and then in July I’ll be doing one in St. Augustine. I don’t have anything planned for June yet, but I’m gonna keep my eyes peeled for a good one to sign up for. 5Ks are really cool, because they keep you motivated to constantly train, and they’re awesome charity and fundraising events!

I don’t even know what I came here to write. I was supposed to have my fitness test today, but because “it was too windy,” it was cancelled, and rescheduled until the 1st of February. And, that sucks. I was psyched to do it today! I was pissed for a little while afterwards, but blew off some steam by…well, running anyway. Then I went to Applebees to get some steak. After that, all was better with the world.
