My Poor Truck :(
Earlier today I was going to go get some lunch at Taco Bell, but then we got into my truck and…well, nothing happened. My truck wouldn’t start! We jumped into my co-worker’s Jeep and went and got food anyway, but when I got home I called my insurance company, Progressive, and it turns out they have GREAT roadside assistance! The tow-truck came about 20 minutes later and my truck is downtown at the moment. They’ll probably get it into the shop tomorrow morning, but I certainly hope it’s done before I leave for Maine on Thursday. I’m sure it will be though.
Hmm, other than that it’s been just another weekend. I was at work pretty much all day on Saturday. I spent the morning working and then the afternoon at a meeting. Today was a well-needed break.
I’m listening to the Black Eyed Peas – Rock Your Body. It’s pretty good…I just like the “It Takes Two” sample.
Tomorrow starts my final week of my first block of classes at UOP. I emailed my academic advisor to see about starting my next block on the 15th instead of the 8th when I’m in Maine. I don’t think it’ll be a problem though.
Alright, that’s it for now. Have a good week!
5 Days!
Hey all!
I got my tax refund deposited today! It was supposed to be deposited on the 5th of February but it came early – well, the Federal one anyway…still waiting on the State return.
5 MORE DAYS!!!!!!! (Maine!)
Yeah, short and sweet this time. I’ll post this weekend, probably Sunday. Later!

12 Days!
Well, shortly it will only be 12 days until I’m back where I belong – home! Jennifer and Stephen will be getting me at the airport I do believe, using the infamous “Kyle Taxi.” It really wouldn’t surprise me if they installed a rate meter, haha.
Things at work have been improving a lot. Yeah, there are a few hiccups here and there, as there are at any workplace, but overall it’s getting much better. I’ve learned not to hold my breath though as anything can happen! I recently saw a quote posted online that makes a lot of sense;
“Don’t make someone a priority in your life when you’re only an option in theirs.”
This is the new “Golden Rule” in my book!
Anyway, hmm…I really wasn’t prepared for this post. I noticed I hadn’t put anything up for a while and decided it was time, even if it was just some random junk no one cares about.
I will end by saying one thing in particular…
“What comes around goes around – And, what goes around will eventually come back around to bite you twice as hard.”
It sounds so simple, and we’ve all heard it a million times, but we never seem to actually take it seriously. Some people should start, ASAP.
Ahhh, 12 more days
Ok, maybe I’m not quite finished yet. You all need to check out this amazing site: www.etsy.com. I could easily go broke on that site!
Now I’m done, I promise!
Maine in 20 Days!
Yes, that’s right! I bought my plane tickets finally this morning so I can get back home to Maine and see everyone! It’s been a long wait but it’ll definitely be worth it to see my friends and family once again! I’ll be leaving on February 4th and arriving to Maine around 9:30pm – so I’ll actually be back in Fairfield by 11pm or so. I’ll be leaving Maine to come back to the base on the 15th of February at 6am. I’m stoked!
Work this week has been pretty good! It’s been one of the better weeks in recent memory, for sure. Everyone is in a good mood and things are running much more smoothly. I think a lot of it has to do with the weather and how nice it’s been. We’ve been averaging 30′s and low 40′s for the most part and it’s a welcome relief from the NEGATIVE temperatures we were having beforehand. We’ve been working pretty late this week but next week we start the dayshift. I like the dayshift better because then I have some time to hit the gym after. If I work evenings I never have the motivation to get out of bed and go to the gym…
Everyone back home – I hope you all are doing great and I sincerely mean it when I say I can’t wait to see everyone again soon. My friends back home mean the world to me and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Be good and stay safe! See you all VERY soon!
Is it Summer Time?
I just wanted to quickly say that right now it’s about 7 degrees out! It feels like 100 degrees after the last couple days of being -40 with the wind chill…
Yay!
Work Week = Done!
Another work week has come and gone! I’m definitely glad the weekend is finally here. It just doesn’t seem like a Friday to me though and I’m not really sure why…?
I’m probably gonna jump in the shower here shortly and have a couple of drinks to relax for the night. When I left work it was 20 below zero so I’m definitely not going out to do much. This weekend should warm up to around the 20′s or so. Maybe I’ll hit up the mall or something later this weekend but I’m not entirely sure yet.
Next week I’m going to be purchasing my plane ticket to get back home in February for some leave. There is no other feeling on earth quite like going back home to visit friends and family who you haven’t seen in over a year. Some people would say, “oh a year isn’t that long!” Trust me, to me it is and I can’t wait to see everyone!
So, that’s the latest exciting installment of my life, haha. Take care, drive safe on the roads, stay warm and have fun!
Three’s Company!
I woke up today at about 11am. I originally had my alarm set for about 9am, but I didn’t actually fall asleep until about 4 this morning…so when my alarm went off, I wasn’t in much of a mood to crawl out of bed. Since I had nothing pressing going on, I decided to be a drooling vegetable for another couple of hours! The reason I didn’t get to sleep until 4ish is because I was watching Three’s Company! I love that show – I wish there were more like it these days. Back then, it seemed like every show became an instant classic. These days, maybe one in every 20 new shows is even worth watching past the first 10 minutes…
I called Jennifer and Stephen up this afternoon! We had a good chat as we always do. We talked about how the New Years Eve retro party was this year. They said it was a tad on the slow side and the crowd wasn’t very large, but they still had an amazing time. It snowed too heavily for them to make it in the next day for the normal Friday night party, but the club ended up closing early at about 10:15pm anyway. It was probably better off that way. Why risk ending up in a ditch?
If all goes well from here on out, it should only be 32 more days until I make it back home. I am SOOO ready to be back home with friends and family for a little while. Please cross your fingers and hope everything works out!
