Huh?
Christmas 2009 – Snow Storm
Christmas was a complete white-out and today just about every car in the parking lot was blocked or buried by snow. Luckily, I had nothing pressing that needed to be done, but damn! The main highway which runs along-side of base was closed most of the day due to snow, so no one was really going anywhere in a hurry anyway. It’s stopped snowing, and as far as I can tell, it’s stopped blowing around violently. Last night, I had to make a last-minute trip to the shoppette - and on my way to my truck I fell face first into a gigantic snow drift. Yeah, that made my shopping experience less-than-pleasant, as you can imagine. Here are some of the pics I was able to take today:
The last picture is my favorite just because of the trees…they make it out to be so much more beautiful than it actually is at the moment.
That’s about the extent of what I wanted to share with you all today. Have a good weekend!
Before bed…
From what they’re saying, our white Christmas here in Minot is about to get a little bit whiter. Supposedly, we’re going to get about 8-10 inches if the weather dudes turn out to be right for once. The temps have been more than decent lately. This time of the year last year we were hovering around -10 to -20 on a regular basis. This year, high teens and twenties for the most part. No complaints here!
I just stepped out of the shower and I’m all squeaky clean once again. I’m just kind of killing some time before I go to bed. I slept most of the day since I worked tonight until about 1am. It was supposed to be more towards 2:30am but we were able to skip out a tad earlier than expected. I’m not really tired, and I guess there’s no real point to this post except to kill some of the time off…
I know one thing – I’m excited at the thought of going home to visit soon. I wish it could have been for the Holidays as previously planned, but February isn’t too bad of a push back as I’ve mentioned before. As long as I get to see family and friends, I don’t care what time of the year it is!
Alright, I suppose I should get into bed and try to get a little tired at least. I’m not working again until 2:30pm so I get to chill and sleep in a tad before hand. Have a great day!
Footblab!
An Air Force Times Question…
Question: The Air Force Academy claims that tolerance of non-Christian religions has improved in recent years. But what about your experiences in the Air Force? Have you found the service and its members to be tolerant of Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Wiccans and others who are not Christians?
Answer: Too tolerant. The AF is too tolerant with all forms of religion. There’s NOTHING wrong with belonging to a certain religion or practicing whatever you want, but work is no place to talk in-depth about it. Keep it outside of work. And please…DON’T PREACH TO ME! I hate it when people preach their views to me when I haven’t asked to hear about it. I will never ask to hear about it because I couldn’t care less what people believe in.
Hello Hello!
I just wanted to take a few moments and update everyone on what’s happening around here lately!
I’m starting to look into purchasing my tickets to fly back home in February. It really wasn’t a good feeling having to postpone it that long but it might turn out to be worth it. When I’m home, I’ll get to watch the Super Bowl and the Daytona 500 with my Dad! I always look forward to the 500!
I mailed out all of my Christmas cards the other day and they should start arriving at people’s houses here shortly. I really don’t have anyone to buy anything for so I don’t have to worry about getting trampled by sale-hungry customers. That’s one thing that was always good about working at Walmart – the busier it was, the faster the day went. Never could complain there, that’s for sure!
My grades for Week #2 should be posted here in the next hour or so. I’m having an amazingly good time with the University of Phoenix online program. My classes are fun, the people are great and my instructors are cool as well. This was the best choice I think in the long run and it’s paying off majorly. I think, if all goes well, I’m just going to continue with them and work towards my Masters.
I’m going through one of my “I miss the old days” stages tonight. Mike and I were talking about some good ol’ high school stories and every time I do that it makes me want to go back so bad! Unlike what most people would say, I had a great time in high school and I can’t wait for my reunion. It’s really only about three and a half years away now which is kind of weird to think about.
Oh, and lastly – I had fun Googling my name tonight. You’ve got to do it every few months to see what new stuff has popped up on the internet about you, haha!
Alright, later gators!
