Those Damn Zombies!
Man Punches Another After Accusing Him of Being a ‘Zombie’
From Fox News:
Iowa City police are investigating an early morning assault in which a man accused another of being a zombie, then punched him twice.
Police say the assault occurred at 1:17 a.m. Sunday at an Iowa City restaurant south of the University of Iowa campus.
A man was ordering food when he was approached by another man who called him a zombie, then hit him in the eye. When the victim tried to call police on his cell phone, the man punched him again, breaking his nose.
The man then ran out a back door.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
Paranormal Activity Update & Saw VI Review
This is just a quick update about ‘Paranormal Activity’ – which I first watched online last night.
A buddy of mine and I decided to catch the theatrical version tonight down at the theater. The ending was a tad different compared to what was released online, and that one particular scene where Micah is thrown against the wall was left out of the online version, but none-the-less the movie still got to me. The audience was in full force tonight and some people we a bit on edge, including the guy sitting next to me. It’s not often a film can actually mess you up like this, but it succeeded, and I don’t recommend it for anyone weak of heart.
Before we went to see PA tonight, we went to see the latest installment of the Saw franchise. So many questions were finally answered in this film, such as what was inside the box and what happens to Detective Hoffman after it’s discovered he’s the one carrying on the legacy of Jigsaw. There’s an interesting twist at the end with Hoffman and we’ll have to wait for Saw VII before that’s answered. I have the strangest feeling that this will all wrap back around to Dr. Gordon from the first film in the series. One never knows, but it’s my hunch.
Overall, this film was in the Top 3 in my book as the best in the series so far and definitely a HUGE improvement from Saw V.
Paranormal Activity
I just watched Paranormal Activity online for the first time. The movie for some reason hasn’t been released around here, so I had to improvise…
First of all, I have to say that this movie is the best I have ever seen as far as producing a basic, straightforward “haunted house” style story. There’s no gore, no special effects, no $40 million-per-movie actors, and no bullshit. It lives up to the hype as being one of the scariest movies of the decade in my opinion. It rivals ‘The Exorcist’ from the 1970′s and shows that a simple, low-budget film can still grip you as much as a film made for millions of dollars. It really makes you wonder what happens around you when you aren’t able to physically see what’s going on, like when you’re asleep. Millions of people have stories about encounters of some sort, ranging from a light turning on by itself to possessions to other forms of activity as well. My father used to say “those people can’t ALL be crazy…” – and it’s true! This movie was well made and well marketed from the beginning considering the budget, and it’s by far a success.
After watching this film, it made me think of some of the things that I had gone through a few years back and how it could have turned out. Luckily, it never progressed that far, and a woman I had e-mail about the events (a paranormal researcher) was able to sort it out for us.
A little bit of this, a little bit of that. But, more of this than that!
Hey all!
I hope everyone is doing well lately! It’s been quite a while since I’ve made a ‘real’ post on here, so it’s time!
Let’s see…It’s definitely getting colder around here. Just about a week and a half ago we were in the mid 80′s still, but now we’re lucky if we break the 40 degree mark. It’s amazing how FAST it cools off here. In Maine, it’s nice because it’s a gradual decline…here it’s not so gradual, haha. We don’t have a real ‘Fall’ season – it goes from Summer to dead in no time at all. But, I survived last Winter here, so we’ll get through this one too!
Work is going pretty well. We’re still not very busy, but that’s alright I guess. We’ve had one new person come up from tech school and another on his way from Japan in the next few weeks as far as I’m told. Our manning is pretty low at the moment and we still have people who are going to be leaving within the next couple of months – so it’s going to be interesting to see how we squeeze by.
The last couple weeks I’ve been on a HUGE health kick. I’ve had absolutely nothing but water every day to drink, I don’t snack at all throughout the day and when I eat a meal, it’s usually tiny just to get me by. I’m just finishing my first bottle of Xenadrine Ultra, and I just ordered a bottle of Hydroxycut to finish out my 45 day program. Since I got here to the base I gained about 15-20 pounds, and I’m determined to lose it by the time I visit back home at the end of December. It’s not really noticeable, I’m still a skinny bag of bones, but I definitely belong back in the 145-155 pound range.
I think on Sunday, the new person in my office and I are going to Bismarck for the afternoon. I want to swing by Buckle and check out what they have for clothes for the New Years Eve party. Speaking of New Years, Mike and I can’t wait! This year I’m dragging his ass out with me for the celebration. This will be my 3rd year celebrating it at retro, assuming I make it back in time – but I think I will.
Well, I think that’s about it for now! I was trying to get a new video blog up last weekend but had no motivation to finish it, so maybe that’s what I’ll work on Saturday…? Who knows right now, haha! Oh, and one last thing – my procedure went well last week – the stitches are all out and everything is good!
Have a great day!
Yes, another one!

DJ Penetrate
Mike and I have gotten to know a guy out of Houston who DJ’s at some hot and popular nightclubs. He goes by DJ Penetrate and he’s pretty much the hottest on the scene in the Houston area. He works at both the Roxy and Drink Houston which are pretty popular in the industry. He’s invited us to drop by sometime and check it out. He’s also willing to head up to Maine and perform some night for us in the future whenever we decide to organize something and get him booked up. Awesome guy all around and knows his music extremely well.
Check him out:
