Mid-Week!
This is my second day off this week. My last one was on Monday which was the first on over a week for me. We were busy getting ready for the air show, so it wasn’t all that bad to have to work.
Things have been going pretty well around here. Sarah and I are still doing fine, so no problems there! The weather has been amazing the last few days. I got a bit crispy during the air show actually, and my face is starting to show signs of peeling finally, lol. I’m molting like a snake!
Last week, I went up for the Excalibur Award. After you’re nominated, you go in front of a board and answer questions about the Air Force and current events, then they select a winner after. I haven’t heard anything back as of yet, so I’m not sure what the deal is. This is my second time going up for it.
Tonight I’m listnening to a bunch of 80′s and 90′s rock ballads! I love the 80′s! This Friday I’m acutally going to the fair to see Motley Crue and Theory of a Deadman – so it should be a blast! I’ve seen the Crue twice already…loudest show ever, I swear! I’ll TRY to get some pictures and video but I’m not sure if they’ll let cameras in or not…
Well, that’s it I suppose for now!
Air Show
This weekend is the air show here at the base. We’re getting ready for it and I assume it’ll be packed with people come Saturday. This will actually be my first air show, so it’ll be kinda neat for me!
I have no water…lol. My faucet doesn’t work and neither do my toilet or shower…wonderful!
Bruno…
Wasn’t as good as everyone made it out to be. Some parts of the movie were just downright disgusting, and not in a funny way. Other parts were humorous, but not quite enough to salvage the movie from the hole it dug itself into within the first 20 minutes.
In other news, tonight is the series finale of Harper’s Island. It’s gonna be a 2 hour special instead of dragging it out for another 2 weeks with separate episodes. I’m still hoping another station picks it up for next season but it isn’t looking good at this point…
Right now, I’m just listening to the RT40 and trying to digest my dinner, lol. I picked up some food on my way home from the movies.
Other than that, tomorrow is my last day off until next Monday due to the airshow next weekend. It’ll be alright though, we’ll get through it!
Ahh, the sweet taste of death!
Factory Worker Dies After Falling Into Vat of Chocolate
Wednesday, July 08, 2009
From Fox News and MyFOXPhilly:
A 22-year-old factory worker died Wednesday after he fell into a vat of boiling chocolate at a manufacturing plant in New Jersey, police said.
The Camden County prosecutor’s office identified the victim as Vincent Smith II. He was a temporary worker at the Cocoa Services Inc. plant.
Smith had been in the melting pot for about 10 minutes by the time rescue crews arrived, MyFOXPhilly.com reported.
Prosecutor’s spokesman Jason Laughlin says a co-worker tried to shut off the machine and two others tried to pull Smith out of the 8-foot-deep vat. He was hit and fatally injured by the agitator that mixes the chocolate.
By the time he was pulled out of the tank just after 11 a.m., he was already dead
July 4th Weekend!
Hello everyone! It’s been way too long since I’ve posted an update, so here’s one now!
We got out of work today at about 3:30pm to start our extended weekend for the 4th. I actually don’t work again until Tuesday afternoon. Things have been going pretty well at work. The weather is getting really nice, a lot of days are in the low 80′s now which isn’t too hot and unbearable. The new BX opened up today but it isn’t anything special.
I posted my newest completed lyric for review online, and it isn’t doing so well, so I’m not going to post it here until I have a chance to change some of the lines and make it sound a little better. This will make 32 completed lyrics once it’s finished, which is enough for 3 albums and some leftovers. The tour flyer design is also ready, and we’ll get it all fancied up as it gets closer and publish it.
Saturday night is the Nascar race at Daytona! That’s how I’ll be spending my 4th of July, you can count on it! A night race at Daytona is like a mouse discovering cheese…you don’t get any better than that!
And lastly, I’m still not certain about plans for December and going back home. It might be worth waiting the extra 2 weeks and then getting an extra two and a half days to be home once January rolls around. If that’s the case, I’m gonna try to get Sarah to come home with me so she can meet my friends and family. We’ll see, it’s still some months away.
