This Week = Le Weird
It’s been a longggg time since we’ve worked normal hours at work. Lately it’s been anywhere between 9 and 12 hours depending on the day. I’m really not complaining about it, but sometimes it’s like…hmmm.
I don’t know what it is lately either, but when I get home from work I usually take a nap, but lately I’ve been practically dying in bed. I get into such a deep sleep that I don’t hear any of my alarms and I wake up 4 hours past my planned time. Luckily this happens in the evening and not in the morning when it’s time for work, lol. And, I really hate it when I wake up from a coma and there’s like a stream of drool forming on my pillow. That’s really pleasant. It’s like I’m the one causing the flooding problems out here in ND or something. I wouldn’t be surprised if I woke up with a wall of sandbags around me sometime to hold back the water.
A Haunting in Connecticut
I finally was able to make it to the theater last night to go see the movie, and it wasn’t really all that bad. If you’ve ever seen the Discovery Channel documentary on the story, it’s pretty much the same with a Hollywood touch to it…and a bit extended. Still, it was well made and kept me interested and I’d recommend it to people to go see or rent.
I’m thinking about pulling an all nighter tonight…I took a nap from 5:30pm until about 11:45pm tonight, so it’s not like I’m all that tired at the moment. Plus I work a day shift tomorrow…or later today…so I’ll be out by 2:30 and I can lay down for a nap then…we’ll see.
A Weekend Without NASCAR
This weekend didn’t exactly go as planned. I was supposed to get three days off, but ended up worling 11 hours yesterday. I still got two days split, but yesterday was so nice I’d much rather have had it off!
I just got off the phone with Stephen and Jennifer. They said there’s a new tradition at retro – dancing on the bar during the last song and that they can’t wait for me to come home to try it out, lol. Everything is good with them. They went with DJ Patti to go see “The Haunting in Connecticut” which I’m gonna be going to see later on this evening at 7:15.
I’m really having fun filming these video blogs! I like being able to show everyone back home what it’s like out here where I am…and it’s about as close as you can get to actually being here.
And lastly…I’m not happy with Midcontinent Communications. They provide my cable TV services…and they couldn’t agree on a new contract with Fox…so now we don’t have Fox until they agree on something new. So, I could have been watching NASCAR right now, but instead I’m watching the NHRA. Life’s just not fair! LOL!
Phew…
I have my Air Force physical fitness test coming up in June, so I’ve been working out a lot more over the last week or so. The Air Force recommends at least 14 weeks of fitness training before you take a test, so I started last week. I won’t quite make all 14 weeks, but probably 10 or so. I’ve been doing a lot of the exercises I learned in Basic Training last year – and I had forgotten how much of a workout they actually are! It’s well worth it though!
Tomorrow…or later today if you want to get technical about it…we have the day off from work, but I’m a referee for a Volleyball match at the fitness center from noon until about 1pm. After that, I’m heading downtown for a co-worker’s wedding ceremony.
So, that gets me caught up for another day! Be on the look out for a new video blog episode over the weekend!
April Fools Day
Yes, they got me good…
As soon as I started my shift, some co-workers told me that a “Sergeant Bear” had called for me earlier in the day, and that I needed to call him back ASAP. They were even nice enough to write a phone number down to reach him at. So, I called up the number, and who was it on the other end? “Thank you for calling Roosevelt Zoo, how may I help you?” Yep…Sergeant Bear at the zoo….they got me good.
That’s about the extent of the excitement today…
