Swine Flu

Hello my fellow blog readers! I’m in a superb mood because I just went and bought some more raspberry iced tea! Yes! How can one live without raspberry iced tea? I just don’t think it’s possible!

Not to ruin the mood from the exciting topic of iced tea…but, 2 cases of the ‘Swine Flu’ have made it to an Air Force base in Texas. Yep, we’re all doomed! Nah…I still think it’s overrated. There are 7 Billion people in the world, about 200 confirmed cases and everyone’s in shambles thinking we’re all gonna die. It’ll pass…just like they ALL do eventually. You can’t stop living your life because of every little thing the government tries to scare you with. I mean, if you had to worry about them all, you’d die inside your house because you’d be too afraid to ever leave. Just live!

88 Degrees?!?!?!

I totally just found out that it’s 88° back home in Maine! That’s definitely not fair! It’s only about 50° here right now. Blahhh. Anyway, today I have to run to the Post Office to pick up a package. That’s about all I have to go out for. This is the first of 2 days off for me so I just plan to chill out and relax!

Ahhh! Security!

So, over the last several days, I’ve actually been working with Security Forces instead of doing my actual job. They needed a ton of help for gate guards, traffic control and some other things until this coming Thursday or so, so they pretty much ‘drafted’ me to help out, along with a ton of others as well. So far so good, but long days so far. The first day was 15 hours, second day was 13 hours, today was about 13 hours as well.

Not much else to report at the moment. I’ve worked so much I haven’t even had time to do anything else except sleep, and that isn’t very exciting to blog about. So, for now….later gators!

Catching Up!

I apologize to my readers for not having a recent update! I’m slacking!

Saturday night I watched the Nascar race at Phoenix – and my favorite driver, Mark Martin ended up winning for the first time in 98 races. I was so happy to see that. Mike and I even were on the phone during the end of the race and we couldn’t believe it…although he’s a Gordon fan…but we won’t get into that! I also watched the Bruins kick some ass. The Red Sox aren’t doing half bad either finally.

Tomorrow night we start our 24 hour operations at work. I have some really good shifts though coming up over the next month and a half or so.

Another new episode of Ghost Hunters is tomorrow as well! AND…Harper’s Island on Thursday night!! Harper’s Island I just can’t get enough of. Seriously – I waited about 4 months for it to finally arrive and it’s only 2 episodes in so far…but it’s an amazing show and it should definitely be illegal not to watch it.

The Base Commander came and did room inspections but we still don’t know the results of them yet. Also, I’m starting to work out a little bit more than usual now because in June I have my fitness test.

I’m a little behind on my lyrics. I’ve been writing over the last few days for a new song and I still have another one to finish on top of that. I’ve learned not to rush them I think. It makes me a tad nervous though because the ones people like the most seem to be the ones I spend only a day or less on.

And lastly, my video blog series is officially a hit! Mondays are by far the highest traffic days for my blog from people watching the videos I post Sunday evenings. The fact people are so interested in the daily life of a regular dude is beyond me…but as long as people watch, I’ll post ‘em!

That wraps up this entry I think! Enjoy the rest of the week!

On the joys of throwing up after drinking…

Kyle:  (11:21:13 PM): us and toilets are becoming good friends

Mike:  (11:22:36 PM): i know right

Kyle:  (11:22:41 PM): lol

Mike:  (11:23:53 PM): dude it felt like i was giving birth through my mouth

Mike:  (11:23:54 PM): lol

Kyle:  (11:24:00 PM): LMAO

Penn Foster College

I just wanted to post a quick update and let everyone know that I’ve enrolled as a student at Penn Foster College to finish up my Associates Degree in Criminal Justice. I only have about 13 credits to go…a few more probably now since I have to transfer my credits in to Penn Foster, but at least my education is back on the right track and I can work towards finishing it up!

Yep….

This morning I had to be to work at 3:15am and we worked until about 1:15 this afternoon. It was a good day though, and it went by kinda fast in my opinion. We have to do the same shift again Wednesday. When I got home after work, I passed out in bed for about 6 hours. It was well deserved!

Tomorrow after work I’m gonna head out and go grocery shopping. Other than work it looks to be a quiet week for the most part!

Hopefully a new car…

I’m FINALLY fully qualified in my career field! I finished up all of my required training today in order for me to become qualified. It’s such a relief! Now I can focus on actually doing the job rather than showing off my skills to impress, lol.

After work this afternoon I went to Weslie Ford downtown. I put in an application for a 2009 Ford Fusion, so I decided to trot on over and check them out first hand. I was there for close to 3 hours chatting with a salesperson and haggling a price. It was listed for almost $23,000 – but, after rebates, military discount and some other random discounts, we were able to get it down to $14,995. I’m gonna trade-in my truck if I decide to go ahead with the purchase. The salesman and I took the Fusion for a spin and it’s simply amazing. It’s amazingly quiet, power everything, maroon outside and dark charcoal inside, ambient lighting in 7 different colors, sunroof, gorgeous dash and it’s smooth on the road. I think I’m gonna go with a 4-cylinder for gas purposes. The banks were closed by the time we put my application in, so I’ll hear back tomorrow! :)
