It’s Sunday!
It’s Sunday, and you know what that means! Football, church and laziness of course!
It was definitely good to go to church and see the friends I’ve made there once again. Pastor Todd mentioned my Mother while he was speaking and it made me tear up a bit. We had a good chat beforehand with each other just to catch up.
I’m really not too busy tonight. I’ve been browsing around online and looking at some vehicles. I’m kind of interested in the Dodge Caliber, but I’m not really sure at this point.
I have a few phone calls to make. I just got off the phone with my dad actually. He’s still doing good and can’t wait for me to come home next month. I can’t wait either!
And, the AMA’s are on tonight…Aerosmith at the end of the show!
Enjoy the evening!
?
Today is the first time I’ve slept in so late in a while. It felt pretty good to do that, but…I’m realizing that wasting half a day sleeping isn’t the best way to accomplish much. I haven’t done much today. I ate some dinner a little while ago, then I called my friend Pat. He had to work at the Rockland Walmart today I guess. Jeff is going to a club tonight in Farmington, where he’s supposed to be getting some information for me…Hopefully he doesn’t forget, or else I’m going to be pretty bummed out.
Last night I finished about half of a lyric. It won’t make any sense to anyone except me, so I might not even bother posting it.
Goodnight!

It’s Friday, Bitch
I’m really drawing a blank about what went on today for some reason. It wasn’t all that eventful, but it wasn’t a bad day by any means. Someone invited me out tonight with her and some friends to go out to eat and then go to the…strip club…but I’m not sure I’m ready for that yet here with people I’ve only known for such a short period of time, lol. The dinner would be ok…but the strip club? Maybe in a few months…lol. Besides, I already did that about 5 days ago in Maine!
We have the Thanksgiving luncheon coming up in a few days that I have to go to…and then on the 5th of December I have to go to the Christmas party, where I’ll most likely be drinking for the first time around my co-workers…since it’s tradition at the party from what I hear. But, I won’t be drinking too much, because I have to bring my friend to the airport at about 3am.
As always I’m jamming to some tunes right now. The party mix baby!
I just read on my friend Pat’s Myspace page that he’s at Champions. You just wait….a few more weeks and I’ll be showing everyone how it’s done once again.
Goodnight!
David Blaine Parody – Hilarious! (Part 1 & Part 2)
Today went by very well! I got to do my first RCR checks. RCR stand for Runway Condition Reading, and it involves measuring how good the braking action is on the airfield. In other words, for about an hour, all you do is speed up and them slam on the brakes every few feet. It can make you quite sick to your stomach after a while. It snowed today, that’s why we had to take the readings.
I feel like yesterday and today have been better as far as me being able to ‘be myself’ here in Minot. I hadn’t really found my comfort zone here until yesterday, my first day back from leave. I’ve been able to share a bit more of my personal life with my co-workers and just relax and loosen up a bit. Back home, in Maine, I’m carefree….but here it’s gonna take a while to be like that I think.
A few weeks ago, when I had to come back for leave, Northwest Airlines has offered me a military discount, but I ended up with the medical fare. Today, a co-worker of mine tried to book a ticket to San Diego, and they declined her a military discount…and I don’t think it was right. They base it off the route of flight. So, why would it matter if you’re going from Minot to Maine, or Minot to San Diego? Are Maine customers better? NO! She should have been offered a discount as well…and I even talked to the operator for her to try and she still declined to offer the discount. That really sucks, because you can save A LOT of money that way!
Have a wonderful night! And, watch the video at the top!
Welcome Back to Minot, Kyle
Today was my first day back to work since coming back to North Dakota. It was a bit boring today. Nothing happened, at all. I got back into my training a little and back into the swing of things. I was good to see my fellow co-workers! They got a kick out of some of the stories I told them about the trip…
I called my friend Amanda tonight. She was kinda mad at me for forgetting to call her yesterday…and the day before that. I really don’t blame her, either – I forgot all about it!
Amanda and I
I’m already out of things to say!
Come on December!!!
Christmas Leave
I got back to Minot right on time this afternoon. The flights were a bit rough, but I made it back just fine. My NCOIC met me at the airport to pick me up and bring me back to the base. I stopped by the office and saw a couple of my co-workers there, and then came back to the dorm to un-pack.
My NCOIC told me that my First Sergeant and Squadron Commander will most likely approve my Christmas leave, up to a maximum of 2 weeks. I called her back tonight to tell her what dates I had in mind, then I called my dad to tell him about it. So, I’ll be coming home from December 22nd until January 6th it looks like right now.
Tonight is a quiet night…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Back to Minot
Well, my leave is over and it’s time for me to fly out to Minot. I’ll be leaving in the morning around 6:15 or so from my house when Steve picks me up…then my flight leaves Bangor at 8:30am. If all goes well, I should be in Minot at 3:50 local Minot time (one hour behind Maine).
Jeff, Jeremy and I went to Portland today/tonight for our traditional road trip there. We had fun. We spent a few hours at the Mall, and then we went to Friendly’s to eat. We also stopped into Guitar Center – and I fell in love with that store! They sell so much dj equipment it’s unreal. I even gave Jeff and Jeremy a bit of a show on a mixer they had set up there on display, lol. And then, we did something else…**Charlie**…was amazing
– Don’t Ask -
Annnyway…I’m gonna go make something to eat. It’s almost 11pm and I’m not too tired yet. I’ll sleep on the flights tomorrow I’m sure.
My trip back home was great, considering the circumstances…but nothing beats time with good, close friends. That alone made this so much better than it could have turned out.
That’s it! I’ll post tomorrow night to let everyone know how the flights were!
