Let Me Explain…

So, I’ve gotten a couple of “huh?” responses to something I posted on Myspace. Let me try to clear this up…

Saturday night, it was very obvious that I had way too much to drink in a very short period of time. It was so bad, that most of my friends called me the next day to make sure I was alright. This isn’t the biggest reason that night turned sour for me, though.

My best friend, Jeff, has a cousin, who has a girlfriend, who has a friend. Well, this friend seemed to take a liking to me that night. The thing is, I met her before my drinking got out of hand…and it didn’t stop me. I kept drinking, and before 10pm, I already had about 6 in me. This girl even tried to force me to dance with her, a couple of times, and I just couldn’t do it. I couldn’t even stand up on my own. My friends led me outside to the fresh air, and I wasn’t allowed back in for the rest of the night, thanks to the bouncers. In other words, I blew a major chance. I thought she was really pretty, and she was definitely personable, and I can’t believe I just blew her off the entire night because of something like that.

It made me realize that my drinking is getting out of hand when I go out. But, only on Saturdays….never on Fridays. The Blues Club is the only place this happens, and I’ve already told my friends to watch out for me from now on there. It might be fun as it happens, but once it sets in and the night is ruined, it’s not fun anymore.

I have a feeling that the military came just in time for me…because this could have happened months ago. Maybe not the same scenario, but the problem. And, if I wasn’t going into the Air Force, nothing would have stopped it…

Thoughts? They’re more than welcome…

Christmas Leave

I got back to Minot right on time this afternoon. The flights were a bit rough, but I made it back just fine. My NCOIC met me at the airport to pick me up and bring me back to the base. I stopped by the office and saw a couple of my co-workers there, and then came back to the dorm to un-pack.

My NCOIC told me that my First Sergeant and Squadron Commander will most likely approve my Christmas leave, up to a maximum of 2 weeks. I called her back tonight to tell her what dates I had in mind, then I called my dad to tell him about it. So, I’ll be coming home from December 22nd until January 6th it looks like right now.

Tonight is a quiet night…and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
