My Mother

This is the first real time I’ve been able to sit down and catch up on everything. This weekend, I flew back home to Maine after receiving the news that my mother had been admitted to the hospital because of a stroke. I made it home around 3:30pm on Sunday, and then went directly to Portland with my dad. We made the tough decision of having the life support stopped today after her closest friends and family had a chance to see her one last time. She passed away early this afternoon.

I’m doing better now. I was lost earlier, but I told myself this afternoon that I can’t let this affect my happiness. Of course it’s extremely tough on me and my dad, but we’re gonna stick together and make it through.

I really have to thank everyone both at Walmart and all of my other close friends and relatives who have reached out to us over the last couple days. The support has been amazing, and there’s just no way to put in words how much it means to us. She had some amazing friends both at Walmart and elsewhere, and I’m sure it made her happy to be able to be with them before she passed.

My advice: Call someone you know, or look at someone you know, and tell them how much they mean to you and that you love them. I wish I could have told her one last time.

I’ll be home until at least the 18th, so I’ll be in touch with everyone while I’m here.
