Your Captain Speaks – Flashback

I’ve spent the last half hour or so just reading through some of my very first blog entries from last December/January. On December 14th, it will be exactly one year since I started Your Captain Speaks. It brings back a lot of memories being able to go back and read about them. One thing I noticed, is that my writing style has changed a little since I first started the blog. Comparing newer entries over the past couple months, to those when I created the blog, it seems like I take more time to carefully construct what I want to type out and make it seem more professional. I definitely want a more professional feel to the site, but I also don’t want to lose touch with being able to write things exactly how I am feeling about them at that exact moment, which I was better able to do back then. I’m not really sure how to go about balancing it out to make both sides work. The idea is to lure new readers while keeping the ones I already have attracted – not to lure new readers with the risk of losing some of the ones I’ve already gained. I’ve been reading some other blogs randomly around the internet to get a feel of how writing styles differ.

Anyway, I woke up somewhat early…about 11:30am! Well, it’s early for me at least. I chatted with Pat for a little while online. I found a really neat new website called InternetDJ. It’s more for people who are into mixed music such as dance, house, techno, electronic, etc… It allows anyone to post their recordings on the site for free, and lets anyone listen/download/share the music for free also, since the majority of the music is independent. I signed up for an account and I love what I’m hearing so far!

Today, it’s really cloudy outside. I don’t think the sun’s gonna make it out before the day ends…
