Small Town Saturday Night
Today’s been a bit boring. I got up around 1:30pm, looked out the window and noticed it was raining. After I got dressed and all that good stuff, I went grocery shopping at the commissary. I watched some TV to pass some time, then I went downtown for supper. I talked to Jeff on the phone for a little while, which is always a good thing, then I called Jennifer to thank her for a card she had sent me.
All I’m doing tonight is waiting for a radio show that I listen too on the weekends. It’s a 5-hour pure dance/club mix of music. I like it, so that’s all that matters!
Tomorrow I’ll probably go to the base church service at 2pm, and I’m not sure if there’s a race on or not, but if there is then I’ll watch that after. But for now, have a great evening…I’m gonna go relax for a bit and become a lazy couch potato for the rest of the night.
11:11
A few years ago, I started seeing the number “11″ in weird, random places. For the first couple of months I passed it off as just pure coincidence, but I knew something was strange. At least once a week, I would happen to turn to look at a clock, and it would read “11:11pm”. At first I thought it was kind of cool actually. But then, after I started going to bed earlier, I started to also wake up at exactly 11:11pm. This continued for a while, but then I started dating Jillian. After we had been dating for a little while, I noticed that the 11:11 occurrences were becoming more frequent. It ended up getting to a point where it was almost on a daily basis. I had mentioned to her that I thought something was a bit odd, but after a short talk about it, I just dismissed it again as being a long-lasting coincidence, and that nothing could possibly come of it. After a couple more months of it happening, it became a daily thing. By this point, not only was I seeing EVERY 11:11pm, but I would notice it anywhere…not just at my house. On bank clocks, on my watch, on work clocks…everywhere. By this point, I was starting to get a little worried about it. I seriously thought I was starting to go a little crazy. By last winter, I had gotten used to it happening all the time, but I decided to start doing a bit of research about it online. I simply typed in “11:11″ into google, and I almost shit my pants. Literally THOUSANDS of results came back. There were stories from other people who it’s been happening too, and there were a ton of sites offering “explanations” about what causes the 11:11 occurrences, as well as what the occurrences are trying to tell you. I spent a couple of weeks going through several sites I had chosen to study, and I knew that I was dealing with a REAL thing. It’s called the “11:11 Phenomenon”. There have been just over 1 million reports across the world of people experiencing this. There were a lot of “explanations” offered by people…ranging from guardian angels using 11:11 to attract the attention of those who see it, and also a possibility that everyone who sees 11:11 has been chosen to lead the new world after the destructive events of 2012.
I decided to look into it even further, and I contacted a guy named Uri Geller. Yes, you may know the name…he’s a fairly well-known guy from the past. His website touched on the phenomenon a little, and it offered a way to contact him, so I did. We exchanged messages back and forth about what had been happening to me. I’m not going to go into detail about what was said though, so I’m sorry.
I was scheduled to leave for basic training shortly after this, so I ultimately dropped the subject and just tried to ignore it for as long as possible. My thinking was that it wouldn’t happen to me in training because I’d be too busy to notice. It turned out that I was right, actually. Not once in basic training did 11:11 appear to me.
After basic training, as you know, I went to Keesler AFB in Mississippi for my tech school. I was about 4 weeks into my stay there, when it happened. One night, I was on the phone with Jillian, and I looked up at the clock on my microwave…and sure enough, it was 11:11pm. I was shocked for a few minutes, and when I told her what I saw, my roommate stopped dead in his tracks. He looked over at me and said, “you see it too?” I put the phone down for a second and said “yes” to him. He told me he had been seeing it for a couple of years as well. After that night, it’s happened ever since. For the rest of my stay in tech school, my roommate and I always noticed it at the same exact time, every night. It was truly quite odd.
Now, it’s gotten to a point where everything shows 11:11. Clocks, papers, receipts, e-mails, phone calls…everything shows up with an 11:11 on it. Lately, I’ve been noticing a lot of 1:11 times as well, but not as frequently.
In my previous post, I talked about how my new lyric title is going to be based off the new Stephen King book title. What I never mentioned, was the fact that his book is being released on 11-11-2008. I knew I had to go along with it, and do something myself with that. How fitting, that a world-famous horror novelist, who lives 60 miles north of my house in Maine, would be involved with this as well? I couldn’t pass it up.
I have a feeling that this is just the beginning. If you are a close friend of mine, and you are reading this, you probably think I’m turning into a nutcase. I blogged about this a long time ago on Myspace. Since then, it’s gotten 100% worse. I don’t know what else to do about it…I don’t know who to ask about it anymore…and I don’t know where I can find more information about it.
Numerology, it appears, is kicking my ass at this game, and I don’t like it.
I took the picture below with my phone after looking at my clock one night last week.
‘Twas the Weekend Before Monday…
“…And all through the base, not a creature was stirring…not even a…rat?”
I’m sick of looking at rats! We have them all over the base. Dackrats! You can’t walk anywhere without tripping in one of their holes in the ground.
I just got done a 10+ hour shift. The good thing, however, is next week we go back to our normal operating schedule…2:15pm until 11pm. Of course, it could change at any time.
I really have nothing much to say. I’ve been thinking about some possible titles for my new lyric. Stephen King is coming out with a new collection of short stories, and I like the title he gave the overall book, so I might look to alter it a bit and create a neat title for my lyric. Anyway, once I decide, I’ll post it on my blog so the suspense won’t build up too much…lol. Probably this weekend I’ll have the title ready.
Goodnight!
