Never talk to Strangers
I woke up today at 1:00pm to one of my floormates pounding the hell out of my door. It wasn’t a very pleasant awakening. If it hadn’t been for him, I’d probably still be sleeping right now…
Last night was the promotional press conference for the release of Aerosmith: Guitar Hero. All 5 of the band members were at the Hard Rock in NYC to promote it. I just looked at some pics from the event and it looks pretty wild I have to say. Steven Tyler finally admitted, also, that his rehab stay was for an addiction to pain meds he received after his foot surgery. At least he did the right thing by stopping the problem before it actually became a huge issue.
I’m going to the base movie theater tonight to see “The Strangers”. I’m more or less going to see Liv Tyler because the movie kinda sucks from what I’m told. I might stop back into the V after but who knows.
I had the weirdest dreams last night. The first one had to do with me going back to Champion’s to dance. I was sitting at my table and then I saw Pat walk in, but he looked really tired so I left him alone and went to get an Alabama Slammer at the bar….then I looked over and saw Jennifer and Steven NOT sitting at their normal table…and then my dream switched over to my parents moving out of their house and leaving it to me. I don’t know…it made sense when I was dreaming it…lol.
Oh, I finished some new song lyrics the other day. I’ll post them here when I get a chance.
Have a wonderful day!
The Laptop Makes It!
Well, I have a bit of good news…my laptop finally arrived at my house I’m told. I’m not even going to have it shipped to Mississippi since I’ll be home soon to pick it up myself.
Now for the bad news. I have a few more briefings to attend before I graduate, and for some reason my MTL’s keep denying my requests to attend them. I’m not sure why yet, but I need to find out asap what’s going on with that. Without those briefings, I’m not allowed to leave. Hopefully it’ll be all taken care of Monday when I re-submit the appointment slips and talk to my MTL. I’m about to head back to my dorm since the V isn’t all that exciting tonight. I’ll come back tomorrow night and check it out.
If you get a chance, check out Motley Crue’s new single called “Saints of Los Angeles”…it rocks!
Alrighty…take care!
Kilo Papa (Don’t ask)
Guitar Hero, anyone?
Aerosmith is releasing there new creation – Guitar Hero: Aerosmith on June 29th! Now, I’m not even close to being a fan of video games, but I have to admit, this is pretty neat.
I’m starting to get ready to head back to Maine. I called my recruiter, MSgt Dechenes, yesterday to finalize a few things. We’re still going out for that beer we talked about before I left. I invited him over to my coming home party at my house, since he came to my going away party back in March…and he agreed to stop over. Jennifer and Stephen left a nice rendition of “Happy Birthday” on my voicemail Monday, haha! Thanks to everyone who wished me a Happy B-day. I’m 23 now…and it’s my first B-day away from home. It wasn’t that bad though, just more boring than anything. I got a card in the mail from Jeremy also which was really unexpected, but nice of him. He’s a good guy…and I’m gonna show him how to party it up when I get back home! From what I hear, the “regulars” at Champions aren’t gonna let me rest when I get home. I can’t wait either!
My laptop still hasn’t arrived yet in the mail. I ordered it from QVC and they said it would be there on the 23rd, but it’s now the 25th and nothing yet! I’ll give it until Friday, then I’ll call and see what’s up with it.
That’s it for now. Everyone enjoy the night!
Baby, I can take you there
Today hasn’t been all that exciting. I slept in until like…1:30pm. After I got up I did a load of laundry which I was way overdue for, then folded all of that and put it away. Then, believe it or not, I took another 1 hour nap. I’ve been useless all day. Normally it would be ok for me to screw off on a weekend, but unfortunately I have massive amounts of homework to do before Monday morning. So, I have double the work to finish up tomorrow. I’m here at the V tonight with some friends again. I phased up to phase 3 last weekend so I am a free man pretty much now. No curfew!
I bought a plane ticket this past week. I’ll be back in Maine around 8pm on July 9th, assuming nothing happens between now and then. I’m so excited to get back home and see everyone!
Amanda sent me some of her Navy pictures earlier. She’s doing really well and I’m glad. We both went into the military at the same exact time and graduated at the same time. We quit Walmart almost at the exact same time, and we’re going back to Maine next month at the same exact time. That’s a weird coincidence if you ask me. We’re most likely gonna go drinking together when we meet up in Maine.
This room is so fucking cold! They pump the air conditioning in here like the sun is about to explode or something. I gotta get outta here before I become an ice pop.
Take care and have a great night!
Pink isn’t my favorite color!
I’m here at the V…and at the door they always ask if you’ll be drinking or not, and if you say yes, they put a colored arm band on you to prove you’re of age. Well, the last few times I’ve come here, I’ve always gotten a pink arm band. I’m getting kinda tired of walking around with it, but what can I do.
I spent the first few hours playing pool here tonight with a bunch of cool new friends I’ve made since arriving here. Airman Toten who is my bay chief, Airman Decarolis I graduated basic training with, Airman Szeltner, Airman Hudson and a few others. I got a chance to see Airman Smith again tonight. She just came in and gave me a great big hug and a kiss on the cheek!
For the few minutes I’ve been in the computer lounge I’ve been doing some research on Minot. I don’t think it’ll be all that bad after all. There’s a nice big shopping mall downtown, plus a shitload of activities both indoor and outdoor. And I’m within a couple hours of the other 3 major cities in ND. So, it can’t be all that bad.
The guy sitting next to me is eating pizza…it smells good. I might have to steal some, lol. But for now that’s it. I might stop in tomorrow to give another quick update. Goodnight!
CNN
I’m sitting here today in the mini-mall just browsing the net and watching CNN. I’ve been here for about an hour and a half now and I feel like it’s the end of the world. CNN showed a special about what would happen if a category 5 hurricane hit Texas. Then they showed a mini-special about how climate change will kill us all eventually. Now they are showing a special about the high gas prices, high food prices, etc…So, apparently there is no real news happening today throughout the world? I’m sure after this special is done, they’ll show another one about something that will soon kill off the human race.
I did good last night. I went to the V and only had some Pepsi. I learned my lesson the other night, that’s for sure. Tonight I may have a few drinks but nothing near what I had that night. There’s a girl who volunteers there…Airman Smith….yeah, she’s cute. She seemed overly happy to see me last night so I guess I should go back at least to say hi tonight.
I have to go check my mail and all that good stuff now. We’ve been on lightning lock down on and off today so hopefully they’ll let me outside. Enjoy your day!
What’s going on?
Howdy everyone!
This is the first day of a 3-day weekend for me (yet again). We seem to have a lot of long weekends in the Air Force. This past week has been pretty good for the most part. I’ve passed all of my progress checks and tests in my Airfield Management class. I learned how to create flight plans for pilots and file them. All in all it’s been smooth here.
Last night was terrible…I had way too much to drink at the club and paid the price for it. I was up for hours becoming friends with the toilet. This morning I felt horrible. Live and learn I suppose.
I’ll post again tomorrow or Sunday. Right now I have to go back to my dorm and get ready to go out tonight. Everyone take care!
Good day, mate!
It’s almost 2pm…and I’m already done what I need to do for today as far as errands and all that good stuff. I went to the BX and bought season 3 of Boston Legal. My grandfather got me interested in the show last year when we visited him in Baltimore, and I just now decided to go ahead and buy the series on DVD. All they had in stock was season 3 so I have some catching up to do. I also bought some toothpaste….but that’s not extremely exciting…
Last night, after I typed up my last blog post, I decided to “look around” online for some laptops to see what was out there for deals. Well, needless to say, I ended up buying one after just “looking around”. I bought a 17″ Toshiba Satellite, which seems to be the computer of choice these days. I can see why now.
Of course it’s hot and humid again today…My skin is getting so dark from it. It’s almost like I’m a reverse Michael Jackson or something. Now I have to get rid of this farmer’s tan and get a real one, lol!
So, that’s about it. I’ll wrap it up here. Enjoy the day!
Wow…
I remember the days when I could drink a shitload of alcohol before feeling any side effects from it….yeah….those days are gone. One long island….yes…just ONE…..is all it took tonight to give me a buzz. It used to take me 3 or 4…but not anymore. Oh well, this is half the fun of it!
I’m at the Vandenburg right now, which is the name of the nightclub for the students here on Keesler AFB. It’s not a bad place as far as the music and atmosphere, but the people are a bit odd. It’s just not the same as back home. And, I don’t expect the nightlife to improve much in North Dakota.
Not a whole lot has changed since I last wrote on here. I passed my first class test with an 84%. Our class only has 7 people in it which I have to admit made me feel a bit odd at first, but the people are wonderful. We have a Technical Sergeant who is the highest ranking member in our class. He’s our class leader and he’s pretty damn cool. He bought us pizza the other day! Our class instructor is Staff Sergeant Ross. He’s about as cool as you get as far as an instructor. He’s been in for 8 years and really knows his shit. We’re his first class.
We only had a half-day today. The duty day ended at 11am and gave us yet another long weekend. Since I’ve been here, we haven’t worked an entire friday yet….which I’m not complaining about, trust me!
My friend Jennifer sent me a cd in the mail yesterday…She knows I miss the retro party so she sent me 17 songs that are typically played there! Haha…I thought it was awesome! Little things like that let me know people still think of me. Only about 4 and a half weeks and I’ll be home to visit! I got my recruiter assistance papers in the mail today from my recruiter, so hopefully it gets approved.
That’s about it though! I think I’ve talked long enough. I hope everyone is doing wonderful and I’ll post again soon!
