Probably my last post for a while!

Well, hello everyone! This will most likely be my last post until after basic training. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to actually read this. I’m going to miss everyone. I’ll be keeping in touch, so don’t worry!

I’m packing today and eating Easter dinner. Happy Easter Everyone!

I couldn’t ask for better friends and that’s what makes this a bit easier for me. Life-long friends will be your friends even after you make a change such as this. Luckily, all of my friends are trusting and loyal and will stay my friends for a very long time! I had a great last weekend out with everyone!

Thanks again for everything. It means a lot to have friends like all of you.

The people I’ll miss the most…

These are 2 of my greatest friends in the entire world. Jeremy and Jeff have been through the thick and thin with me for the past 5 years. I’ll miss them, a lot.

Final Night Out :(

Hey hey hey! I just got home from my final night out with my friends. It was such a wonderful night! Jeff, Jeremy, Kaleena, Elizabeth, Heidi and Beckie were among those that came out. I saw Dora too! It’s so hard to leave everyone behind. But, I’m still convinced that I’m doing the right thing. I saw someone else I knew but not very well…I think her name is Jenna but I’m not sure!

Happy Easter to everyone! My Easter will mostly be spent packing, although I’ll make time for Easter dinner too!

Tomorrow will be my last day to post on here for a least 6 weeks. Goodnight everyone!

Last Retro Night for a While…

Hi Everyone. Today has been a bit of an unusual day. First of all, last night was my final retro night. I had a really great time with everyone and some new friends. Jennifer (the girl I’m leaving with for boot camp) showed up for a while and we hung out for a bit. Most people are coming back out tonight for my last night out entirely. Last night, DJ Patti dedicated the entire night to me, haha. She started to tear up when she was saying her goodbyes to me, as did Jennifer (not the same one) and her husband Steve. A girl I met at the retro club a few weeks ago, Terry, invited me out to her friend’s house for a pizza party after we left retro….so I went over there until about 3:30 this morning! We ended up doing some karaoke and stuffing our faces. The karaoke was interesting, lol. We took some pics of everyone and everything, and they’re on my Myspace now.

I got back home around 3:45am this morning, and never actually fell asleep until about 7:30am! I woke up at 9:30, then fell back asleep until about 1pm. My mother and I went to Skowhegan to see my Aunt in the nursing home for the last time before I go. Then we went to Walmart to get some boxes for me to pack, then Payless to try to find some shower shoes…but we ended up getting some sandals at Walmart instead.

I came back home and packed up some more. Damn, I have so much shit! Then we ordered Sonny’s for supper. I’m just putting around and packing some more now until I go out tonight with my friends. I saw Jeff, finally. I ran into him while getting boxes and shoes. He’ll be out with us tonight. Jeremy is going with us to Portland on Monday when I leave to keep my mother company on the way back home.

I’ll probably only be able to post once or twice more over the next couple days, so everyone take care!

4 DAYS LEFT!

Hello to all! Today has been the busiest day of the week for me so far. I went to Walmart right after I woke up and had to buy a whole bunch of stuff for basic. I was able to find everything…EXCEPT…shower shoes…which just happen to be the most important item I need to bring. It irritated me to no end! I ran into a bunch of people in the store…including Beckie! She’s supposed to be going out with us tonight to my last retro night! I ran into Holli too…she’s supposed to call me tomorrow to see about hanging out…but I couldn’t guarantee I’d be able too since I have to make a trip to Bangor and then pack some more. I’m gonna miss her a bunch and a lot of others too…

Speaking of packing….guess what I did today! Yes…PACK! I got 2 more boxes done which included my computer equipment and most of my electronics except my TV and stereo. And, as mentioned earlier…tonight is my last retro night. It’s really pretty sad. I’ve made a ton of friends there and it’s a fun place to be. Jeremy is taking my place as retro dancing King…haha! I tried to find Jeff while I was in the store earlier, but of course I couldn’t! He was supposed to be dressed as the Easter Bunny for the kids but I couldn’t even find the Bunny! I was gonna sit on his lap!

And this is random…but I’m not too impressed that I have to wear “briefs” for boot camp. I’m so used to wearing either boxers or boxer-briefs that it’s going to be a weird change…but that’s all I can say about that! :)

Alright everyone…take care and be safe!

Amber & TJ’s

Good evening! I just got home a little while ago from hanging out with Amber. We went to TJ’s to play some pool, then we went to dinner at Friendly’s. I had fun. It’s always good to be able to hang out with the people you don’t get to see very often.

Since I got home I packed up a few more boxes worth of stuff. I’m finally making a dent in my room as far as the packing goes. I should have it mostly done by Sunday night.

Before I went and got Amber, I had to go to Walmart and pick up my last paycheck. I ran into Jen and chatted with her for a little while. I was looking for Jeff but never did find him. I cashed my check, then went to the bank to deposit most of it. I went and gassed up for $3.19/gallon….

The rest of the night will be spent packing some more and then showering eventually. I’m bad…I skipped my shower yesterday! I keep thinking about how I only have a few days left of showering ALONE!

Everyone enjoy the night!

I Need More Boxes!

Good evening everyone. Today has been a pretty uneventful day. I’m still waiting to get more boxes so I can continue to pack more. I ordered some chinese food for lunch and then had spaghetti for supper. I’m watching Ghost Hunters right now, a repeat…but a new episode starts at 9pm. It’ll be the last new episode that I’ll be able to see for a while until after Boot Camp…if this season is even still going on then. If not, I’ll order it on dvd.

I’m out of things to talk about now…so I’ll just stop rambling.

Jennifer

I decided a little while ago that during basic training, I’m going to keep a journal of my day to day activities and what goes on. I think it will be a neat thing for me to keep throughout my lifetime and will be something good to be able to hand down eventually. I want to be able to post about everything as soon as I have access to a computer again after basic training. I was reading the journal of another member of the Air Force and it inspired me to do the same.

Something I forgot to mention in my last post…while Jennifer and I were getting ready to leave the Sergeant’s office, he was telling us about how much he has enjoyed spending the time with us and how much he’ll miss us when we leave. He has high hopes that he’ll get to see me again down the road in Dover, because it looks like he’ll be able to go back there, and Dover is on my list. Anyway, as he was telling us these things, Jennifer noticed he was starting to tear up a little…and she asked “are you going to cry when we leave?” He wasted no time in saying “I just might.” I actually thought that was pretty neat. I can really tell that he thinks of us as real people and not just another number put through. He thinks of us as his kids, and we look up to him as a father in a lot of ways. I hope Jennifer and I can stay in contact after we go our separate ways in BT. She doesn’t know what her job will be yet, because nothing on her list was chosen for her. She had to choose an overall category, and she chose General and Medical…and our recruiter thinks she’ll get placed somewhere in Medical. That would be neat.

I’m finding that typing out a lot of things on my mind lately is helping me get through everything a bit easier.

The Wall of Fame…haha!

I met with my recruiter today at about 1:30pm. I only have one more meeting with him before I leave next Monday at 11am. The meeting went well. Jennifer and I had our pictures taken for his “wall”. He puts a picture of every person he signs up on his wall. Jennifer seems really nice and it’ll be fun travelling with her to Texas. We’re both going in as the same rank so we already have some things in common with each other.

I’m in the middle of writing out my list of things to buy for the trip and to have for the first week of training. Tomorrow I’ll go to Walmart or something and stock up on what I need. This week I’m also stepping my physical fitness training to the highest level. I’m glad I got a jump start on it, because I still have another entire 6 weeks to get in the best shape possible, and anything I’ve already done is just extra to get ahead with. I was going to go to the high school basketball court and shoot some hoops, but the snow is still pretty well packed tight on the court….and then I was going to run the track but the snow is horrible there still too.

Thursday, my friend Amber and I are supposed to hang out for a little while. I’m trying to hang out with as many people as possible before I leave. Friday and Saturday night will be pretty exciting, although sad at the same time because it’ll be the last time I’ll see most people. Also, Thursday is when I pick my final paycheck up at Walmart….then on April 15th, my first pay deposit for the Air Force will occur.

I may post later, but who knows. Everyone enjoy the evening!
