Super…Wednesday?

Hello everyone! Just a quick update on yesterday’s Super Tuesday contests.Huckabee ended up with 190 delegates, Romney with 260, and McCain with well over 600.

So today is going to shape up to be more of the same from yesterday. Probably some shoveling is in the mix for today’s activities, lol. Oh well, what can you do when you live in Maine?

Super Tuesday (Continued)

Well, I am very pleased with how today’s Super Tuesday contests panned out. It looks as though John McCain will sail smoothly for the rest of the race, and will probably secure the Republican nomination for President. Mitt Romney didn’t do all that bad, but he can’t be all that pleased with is results in the long run. He’s projected to win six states and come away with around 220 delegates. Mike Huckabee, who I support of course, is projected to win 5 states and end up with about 200 delegates. McCain is already well over the 300 delegate mark. I expect Romney to stay in the race for a few more weeks, but then eventually drop out due to lack of delegates, as I expect Huckabee to win a handful of states in the coming week’s contests.

Clinton and Obama have one of the closest races we’ve seen in about 2 decades in my opinion. Clinton won fewer states than Obama today, but the states she won earned her more delegates, which is key to success. Obama has won 11 states at last count, to Clinton’s 7 I believe.

Some candidates who have already dropped out of the race are still earning votes, such as John Edwards. Go figure…?

In any case, make sure you vote. If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain or even discuss the final results.
